DIY Homemade Hand Sanitiser
Nothing beats infectious diseases more than good old-fashioned hand washing, but unfortunately sinks and regular soap are not always available. The next best option is an alcohol based sanitiser containing at least 60 percent alcohol. Due to the rapid spread of Covid-19, retailers across the globe are finding it nearly impossible to keep up with demand. The good news is that all it takes is a few ingredients to make your very own hand sanitiser.
This DIY Sanitiser Recipe is quick and easy, so here are the ingredients you will need! Not only will it sanitise, it smells fresh and clean.
- Lemon and Orange Essential Oils (contains antibacterial properties)
- Tea Tree Essential Oil (contains antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties)
- Isocol or a 99% Isopropl Alcohol (keep an eye out at Bunnings and Big W Stores)
- Pump or Squeeze Bottle.
You will need:
- 5 drops of lemon essential oil
- 5 drops of orange essential oil
- 15 drops of tea tree essential oil
- 1/3 part of Aloa Vera Gel
- 2/3 parts of 99% Isopropyl Alcohol
Some people with sensitive skin may need to minimise the amount of essential oil used in this recipe. A Skin Patch Test is recommended prior to use.
- Mix all ingredients into a bowl.
- With a funnel, pour into Pump or Squeeze Bottle.
